Kitchen Remodel, Lake Oswego, Oregon
This project consisted of the remodel of an outmoded kitchen and family room space to provide a new center for family living, dining, and entertaining. The client wanted a space that encouraged eating together even though everyone was alway on the run. Inspiration came from the old broken down table that was used each morning. The table was replaced by the new kitchen centerpiece, a twelve foot long island with a continuous bar that flows into a large circular table at the end. The bar now serves as a breakfast space that gathers the family during the busy mornings and then serves as a space for friends to meet and talk during quieter hours. For parties the bar works as a long serving table or a space for guests to interact with the cook. All this makes the remodel well worth the effort.
